2018 Midwest Youth Triathlon Series

We invite you to join the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series in which youth triathletes compete head-to-head for a chance to be crowned the Midwest Youth Triathlon Champion! The 2018 Series events are the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, and the grand finale JCPRD U Kids Triathlon in partnership with Charlie’s House.

AWARDS

For both male and female competitors in the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series, awards will be given for first, second, and third place in each of the following two-year age categories: 8 and under; 9-10; 11-12; and 13-14.

All triathletes who participate in all four events in the Series will receive special recognition and will be entered into a raffle to win a Garmin Forerunner 35.

POINTS AND SCORING

- Points - 

Placement Points at the JCC Youth Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, and the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon* for each age group:

(i)  First Place: 3 points

(ii)  Second through Fifth Place: 2 points

(iii) All other Finishers: 1 point

*Preme Points: For the individual swim, bike, and run disciplines, 2 Preme Placement Points will be given in each respective age group to the triathlete with the fastest time in that discipline at the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon.

Placement Points at the Grand Finale JCPRD U Kids Triathlon:

(i)    First Place: 5 points

(ii)   Second through Fifth Place: 3 points

(iii)   All other Finishers: 1 point

- Scoring -

At all four events, both male and female competitors will earn points in their respective age groups of 7 and under, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14.

The final score for each triathlete will be obtained by adding the placement points gained at the grand finale JCPRD U Kids Triathlon with each competitor’s points earned at the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, and the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon.

The male and female competitor with the most placement points in each of the following two-year age categories will be the Midwest Youth Triathlon Champion: 8 and under; 9-10; 11-12; and 13-14. In case of a tie, the competitor with the most placement points earned at the Grand Finale JCPRD U Kids Triathlon will be the winner.

PARTICIPATION

Anyone registered to participate in any of the Series individual events (JCC Youth Triathlon, TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, JCPRD U Kids Triathlon) can participate in the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series. It is FREE to be part of the Series.

You can enroll in the Series when you register to participate in any of the individual triathlons in the Series or simply fill out the form below. Please note that participants must race in the age group for their age of December 31, 2018.

You do not need to be participate in the Series to compete in the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, or the JCPRD U Kids Triathlon.

 FAQ

1) There is no charge to participate in the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series. There is a fee to enter the individual events in the Series.

2) Anyone can participate in the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, or the JCPRD U Kids Triathlon. Participation in the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series is not a requirement to enter any of the individual events.

3) Participants in the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, or the JCPRD U Kids Triathlon must have a USA Triathlon membership to race. The annual fee for a youth membership is $10.00. USA Triathlon provides race insurance and rules for the events. Click here to obtain your license.

4) The rules for the Series events can be found on the USA Triathlon web page (http://go.teamusa.org/2mtEEun).

5) In all of the events in the Series, your age is your age on December 31, 2018.

6) All in. You don’t need to be an experienced triathlete or super human to participate in the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series. Everyone is welcome. If you would like some assistance with your training, consider joining the SBR Elite Team.

7) Information regarding Midwest Youth Triathlon Series, the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, and the JCPRD U Kids Triathlon can be found at www.TriKIDS.us.
